FEFA is a government contracting corporation and we have a current opening for a Technology Transfer Support Specialist with CRADA experience. The position is located in Silver Spring, MD. The candidate shall utilize knowledge of technology transfer law and regulatory requirements related to managing life science/medical research to provide advice, guidance, and assistance to Institute staff on issues relating to collaborative and other agreements, inventions, patents, licenses and other technology transfer matters.

The candidate shall also use excellent interpersonal skills in a team environment to prepare, review, and provide assistance with development of intergovernmental and technology transfer agreements to include interagency agreements (IAA), cooperative research and development agreements (CRADA), material transfer agreements (MTA), and nondisclosure agreements (NDA).

Additional position requirements include:

- With minimal direct supervision, act as a point of contact for incoming requests for agreements including Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADAs), Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs), Interagency Agency Agreements (IAAs), non-disclosure agreements and others.

- Act as subject matter expert (SME) for investigators and staff with regard to technology transfer agreement and related processes.

- Coordinate agenda items for weekly meeting of the Agreement Review Committee (ARC) that reviews potential collaborations by developing agenda that is sent to participants, attends meetings and maintains records for future reference. Provides feedback to investigators on ARC review of their requests.

- Assist with outreach to potential partners by assisting scientists in developing statements of work, directing them to in-house personnel for budget development and ensuring they follow all in-house policies for establishing agreements with potential partners.

- Coordinate and conduct monthly teleconference with labs to review business agreements and other business items.

- Review and evaluates intellectual property (IP) held by partner as well as in-house IP to determine the possibility of new IP and value of the collaboration.

- Independently consult with scientists on invention disclosures (IDs) and processes all IDs in accordance with organization policy.

- Evaluate the technologies of scientists prior to the Invention Evaluation Committee meetings (IEC) so that appropriate information is provided to the IEC in their decision making process on patentability of inventions.

- Ensure availability of VTC meeting rooms for the monthly organization meetings, informs inventors of the IEC agendas and attends monthly meeting.

- Assist with other laboratory or outreach projects as needed. This includes working with other members on special projects and assignments.

- Contractor candidates should have some laboratory experience in a research environment.

- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively and productively with a wide range of personnel including active duty military and civilian scientists as well as other administrative staff.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Experience with general computer software including MS Office and web applications.

- Working knowledge of Federal technology transfer legislation and policies is required.

Education and Experience Requirements:

- Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry or related field is required.

- 7 years in scientific research environment. At least 4 years of experience in a U.S. government technology transfer office required.

- Professional certifications within the intellectual property community including admission to Patent Bar preferred but not required.
