Anthony D. Saleh received his PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Johns Hopkins University in 2008 for his work in drug discovery and designing screening assays for chemically-modified antisense and RNAi-based therapeutics targeting HIV. As a postdoctoral fellow at the National Cancer Institute he continued his work on small RNA drug discovery of microRNA-based therapeutics synergizing with radiation therapy to treat triple negative breast cancer and colon cancer. Dr. Saleh is currently a Scientist in the Head and Neck Surgery Branch at the National Institute of Deafness and Communication Disorders, where he has developed a novel screening platform for microRNA and siRNA therapeutics to treat head and neck cancer. In 2012 he was appointed a member of The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) analysis working group for head and neck cancer and cervical cancer. Dr. Saleh’s research has been recognized by the American Association for Cancer Research, and he is an author of several manuscripts, book chapters, and patents.
